Saving the Yonkers Waterfront
A group of concerned citizen's are gathering together to help save the Yonkers Waterfront. With all the talk of investment in Yonkers, little is mentioned at whose expense the building will come from (and who will truly profit) Of course there is a little bit of NIMBY going on here-- everyone wants development, but nobody wants traffic, congestion, and the problems that go along with development. Still, I am standing with the people who say PAY ATTENTION, YONKERS! Here's a video that they created: (and if you would like to get involved, visit their website http://www.yonkersgone.blogspot.com |

Good luck on the water front. We're going through something similar here.
I've read your blog off and on for the past few years. Every time I see it the same thing pops in to my head: A screeching, old woman's voice screaming "Fan Dancers From Yonkers!"
That line is from an old Twightlight Zone episode. I don't even remember the plot, but at some point a woman accuses here husband of cavorting with "Fan Dancers From Yonkers". I was very young at the time I saw it and I had know idea where or even what "Yonkers" was at that time. And Fan Dancers From Yonkers was something I really had a hard time envisioning.
That must have been 35 years ago and now every time I see your blog I get this image a woman screaming at her husband "Fan Dancers From Yonkers!"
Do you know if there are any Fan Dancers in Yonkers?
I'm not sure of the movie-- but somebody else has mentioned the line Fan Dancers from Yonkers to me.
"Yonkers-- with the Fan Dancers" Not sure where it comes from.
Glad you are reading, whatever it takes....
I haven't met any fandancers-- but I'll start looking!
